Brief Introduction

Our Mission

The Hong Kong International Institute of Music (HKIIM), a non-profit Christian institution, was found in July, 1998 by a group of enthusiastic Christian musicians and educators.

Our goal is to provide a positive educational classical music experience for the young people. It is our aim that classical music education, taught in accordance with fundamental Christian beliefs, will enable our students to train in and to achieve personal and spiritual growth as well. We also like to share the gospel of Jesus Christ, through Christian testimony and teaching of our instructors. We hope to cultivate young musical talents for serving our local churches.

Classical Music Purifies your Soul

Most of our students are young adults. We hope by teaching them classical music, they can find ways escaping from the hustle and bustle city life; in the meantime, aspiring after truth.

We provide an all-rounded four-year music programme, namely the Ordinary Certificate, Higher Certificate and Diploma. There are five main major disciplines: church music, music composition, music education, music pedagogy and performance.

We also organize spring and summer short courses, various ensembles, which including choir, chamber orchestra and etc. to cope with different needs on music programmes nowadays.

The first primary and secondary music school in Hong Kong

The mission and vision have been approved by our community. In 1999, the HKSAR government granted a land in Diamond Hill of 72,000 square feet to the Institute to develop the first primary and secondary music school, International Christian Quality Music Secondary and Primary School (ICQM). Students will be nurtured through the teaching of Biblical truth and the cradling of music. The design of our campus is filled with artistry and musicality. Besides the standard facilities of a school, we also have a concert hall that can house 800 audiences, a chapel with a capacity of 300 people, 44 rooms for instrumental practices, double piano music practice rooms, rooms for orchestral practices, an amphitheatre, recital halls, a electronic music studio and an art gallery. Our school is indeed an ideal place for learning music and holding large-scale performances.
